Mission Canyon is a Santa Barbara County census-designated place on the south-facing slopes of the Santa Ynez Mountains. The canyon itself is one of the dramatic natural features above Santa Barbara, with steep terrain, chaparral, and views down toward the city and ocean. Rocky Nook County Park is a local landmark, and the area sits close to the Santa Barbara Mission and foothill trailheads. Mission Canyon feels scenic and tucked-away, more hillside enclave than conventional suburb.
