Mogollon, NM

Tucked into the rugged Mogollon Mountains east of Glenwood, Mogollon is an old silver-mining outpost with barely a dozen year-round residents. Settled in the 1880s after rich mineral strikes along Silver Creek, the town once buzzed around the Little Fannie mine, clinging to the steep canyon walls. Today, the secluded mountain community feels like a preserved piece of frontier history. Weathered wooden cabins, historic mill ruins, and the old company store line the winding road above the canyon, surrounded by the vast, quiet wilderness of the Gila National Forest.
