Mohall, ND

Mohall is the Renville County seat in north-central North Dakota, founded in 1901 by M. O. Hall. The new town was first called Hall, then changed to Mohall in 1902 when another North Dakota community had the same name. When Renville County won separate status, Mohall secured the county seat in 1910, and the courthouse became part of the city's role as a service center for surrounding farm country. The town is in the Minot metropolitan area, though its own map is organized around county offices, Main Street, and the prairie roads leading outward.

The Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood school district joined the three local systems in 2005 and now calls its teams the Mavericks; the school was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2024. The city's current civic list includes a library, Millennium Courtyard, airport, city park and pool, country club, campground, and fairgrounds. The school's recent community projects include food-pantry support and volunteer cleanups. Mohall's county-seat duties, regional school, and airport give a small prairie city a wider daily reach than its central streets suggest.
