Monroe is a southwestern Ohio city split between Butler and Warren counties, along the corridor between Cincinnati and Dayton. It was laid out in 1817 on the old Dayton and Cincinnati pike, and that transportation setting still matters: Interstate access, commuting, logistics, and regional shopping all shape the modern city.
