Montgomery, MI

Montgomery is a small, quiet village in southwest Hillsdale County, right near the Indiana state line. Early settlers originally nicknamed the spot "Frog Eye" because of the ponds scattered around the settlement, but the town eventually took the name of a county clerk who helped register the community. The village grew as a farming and rail stop in the late 1800s, and over the years it has retained that relaxed, rural character.

The village is shared by two neighboring school districts, with most students attending Reading Community Schools and others going to Camden-Frontier.
