Monticello, MS

Monticello is Lawrence County's seat on the Pearl River, with U.S. 84 carrying the town east and west through southwest Mississippi. Downtown grew around Cooper's Ferry, the crossing that gave the settlement its start, and the old buildings, churches, shops, and services still gather around that riverfront core.
