Moorland, KY

Moorland is a quiet, tucked-away enclave on Louisville’s East End, surrounded almost entirely by the neighboring city of Lyndon. With only a few hundred residents, the neighborhood has a classic suburban feel shaped by shady mature trees, spacious lawns, and well-maintained mid-century ranch homes. The streets are calm and see very little outside traffic, yet daily necessities are right around the corner along La Grange Road, and downtown Louisville is only about 11 miles away.

The community was established in the late 1950s when post-war growth transformed rural Jefferson County farmland into leafy residential subdivisions. Moorland incorporated as an independent city in 1959, preserving its small footprint and neighborhood charm as the surrounding area grew up around it. Today, it remains an appealing spot for people who want the character of an established mid-century neighborhood alongside easy access to all the conveniences of the East End.
