Morehouse, MO

Morehouse is a quiet, small town of around 700 people tucked into the farmland of southeastern Missouri’s Bootheel. Located in New Madrid County just a few miles west of Sikeston, the community started out in the late 1800s as a logging camp along the Little River before taking its name from former governor Albert P. Morehouse. Today, it offers a peaceful, slow-paced atmosphere where neighbors know each other and wide-open country views are right down the street.

U.S. Highway 60 and Route 114 run right by town, making for an easy ten-minute drive into Sikeston for shopping, healthcare, and dining. Students attend the Sikeston R-VI School District, allowing families to tap into a larger school system while enjoying the space, lower housing costs, and relaxed pace of a rural community.
