About Morgantown

Morgantown is a north-central West Virginia city, the seat of Monongalia County, and one of the state's most recognizable college towns. It sits along the Monongahela River near the Pennsylvania border and is home to West Virginia University, whose campus, health sciences center, arts venues, and student life shape much of the city. Morgantown also has unusual local texture, from the Core Arboretum and riverfront rail-trails to the Morgantown Personal Rapid Transit system, one of the few automated people mover systems in the United States.
