Moskowite Corner, CA

Moskowite Corner is a small Napa County crossroads in the eastern hills, a rural residential community between the Napa Valley and Lake Berryessa country. The name comes from the Moskowite family, whose members built the corner's commercial stop and took part in county life. George Moskowite developed the original Corners before Lake Berryessa filled in the 1950s, when the reservoir brought new recreation traffic to the roads east of Napa. The CDP sits at about 833 feet among rolling slopes, oak woodland, and long views toward the lake country.

Napa County planning treats Moskowite Corner as one of the mixed-use rural communities west of Lake Berryessa, alongside Pope Creek and Spanish Flat. Capell Valley Road is a local line through the area; the original Capell Valley school opened across the road in 1898, and the old school site remains part of the community's memory. The corner store has served as a landmark even as commercial uses have changed. Today residents look toward Lake Berryessa recreation, Napa jobs and services, and the roads through the Blue Ridge foothills. Moskowite Corner is a place defined by a junction, a family name, and the wide country around it.
