Mount Blanchard, OH

Mount Blanchard is a small village sitting above the Blanchard River in Hancock County, roughly 13 miles southeast of Findlay. The town got its start in the 1830s, taking the "Mount" part of its name from the high ground above the valley and "Blanchard" from a French pioneer who settled in the region. It is a quiet, friendly place to call home, with State Routes 37 and 103 offering a quick drive into Findlay for work, dining, and shopping.

One of the neatest pieces of local history is its connection to Johnny Appleseed, who bought land in the village back in 1834 to start an apple nursery. For outdoor fun, residents head to Island Park, a gathering spot since the 1930s complete with picnic areas, play spaces, and a community pool that has hosted local swimmers for generations. With students attending Riverdale Local Schools and quiet farmland surrounding the town, Mount Blanchard offers a relaxed pace of life with easy access to neighboring cities.
