Located in the rolling pine country of Rusk County, Mount Enterprise is a quiet East Texas town of around 500 people. The community got its name back in the 1830s, blending a nod to a local high point with the ambition of the Vinson brothers, early settlers who opened general stores and built everything from wagons to furniture. Today, it sits at the intersection of US Highway 259 and US Highway 84, giving residents a peaceful rural setting within an easy drive of Henderson and Nacogdoches.

When a logging railroad laid tracks a mile and a half from the original settlement in the late 1800s, the whole town packed up and moved over to the line, creating what locals still refer to as Old Mount Enterprise.
