Mount Healthy, OH

Located about fifteen minutes north of downtown Cincinnati, Mount Healthy is an established suburban community of around 7,000 residents. The town got its distinctive name back in 1850, when families fled the city during a cholera epidemic and found refuge in the cleaner air up on the hill. That history remains a central part of the town's identity, visible in its older brick homes, historical ties to the Underground Railroad, and the preserved 19th-century toll house along Hamilton Avenue that now serves as a local museum.

Daily life here centers around the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Compton Road, where you will find neighborhood shops, local diners, a public library branch, and nearby city parks. Families have access to Mount Healthy City Schools as well as local charter options, while the housing stock offers an approachable mix of mid-century homes and older character properties. Quick access to the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway keeps the rest of the Cincinnati metro area within an easy drive, making it a convenient, down-to-earth home base.
