Mountain Home AFB, ID

Mountain Home Air Force Base sits in the high desert of southwest Idaho, roughly twelve miles from the town of Mountain Home and about an hour southeast of Boise. It is a quiet, tight-knit military community set against a backdrop of wide-open plains and distant mountain peaks. The base has been an active fixture in the region since World War II and is well known locally as the home of the "Gunfighters" and their F-15 Strike Eagles.
