About Mountain Lodge Park
Mountain Lodge Park is a census-designated place on the western slope of Schunemunk Mountain in the Town of Blooming Grove, Orange County. The 2020 Census counted 1,910 residents. Schunemunk is Orange County’s highest mountain, and the community’s roads climb through a wooded slope without a traditional village main street. About 800 homes are divided between the Mountain Lodge Park and Glenwood Hills sides, giving the place two familiar names within one hillside community.
What began as a summer-home community before and after World War II has gradually become a mostly year-round place. Many roads remain unpaved, so the mountain setting shows up in ordinary errands and winter maintenance as much as in the view. Students attend Washingtonville Central School District, and the Mountain Lodge Fire Company carries a long volunteer history tied to the neighborhood’s growth. Mountain Lodge Park sits in Orange County’s Hudson Valley orbit, with daily routines organized around a wooded slope, shared services, and the separate names residents use for the two sides.
