About Muhlenberg Park

Muhlenberg Park is a Berks County census-designated place in Muhlenberg Township, just west of Laureldale and north of Reading. Residential development began here in 1915, inside a township whose older working landscape followed the Schuylkill River and the former canal. The community sits in Reading's northern suburban belt, with township services, schools, and recreation spread through the larger Muhlenberg area instead of gathered in a separate municipal center. The township's park system gives the area its recognizable outdoor map: more than 163 acres of parks and facilities, including Laurel Run Park, Temple Park, Hyde Park, and the Schuylkill-side Pioneer Grove and Kelly's Lock area.

Jim Dietrich Park and Riverside Basin Park extend that river connection, and township programming includes rentals, pickleball, RiverFest, and classes. Temple, South Temple, and Hyde Park add smaller neighborhood recreation sites around the township's residential streets. Muhlenberg Park is one residential pocket inside a broader township, where Reading's services meet the river corridor and the Pennsylvania Dutch countryside.
