Mullan, ID

Mullan sits deep in a rugged canyon at the eastern end of Idaho's Silver Valley, framed by the Coeur d'Alene Mountains. Positioned right along Interstate 90, it is only six miles from the Montana border and the slopes of Lookout Pass Ski Area. The community was founded during the 1880s silver boom and named after road builder John Mullan. Today, it remains a quiet, historic outpost where steep forested hillsides rise straight up from the edge of town.

For newcomers, Mullan offers a peaceful, down-to-earth lifestyle with direct access to incredible mountain recreation. Winter brings deep snow for skiing and snowmobiling, while summer makes it a great basecamp for mountain biking, fishing, and exploring backcountry trails. Basic services and a close-knit neighborhood give the town a grounded feel, with larger amenities and shopping just a short drive down the highway in Wallace and Kellogg.
