Mullens, WV

Mullens is a small, welcoming mountain town of around 1,500 people tucked into a scenic valley in Wyoming County. Life here moves at a relaxed pace, centered around local diners, community get-togethers like the annual Dogwood Festival, and direct access to popular off-road trails winding through the surrounding hills. While the rugged landscape shapes the local scenery, the Coalfields Expressway provides a straightforward drive to Beckley for hospital visits, shopping centers, and big-box stores.

Originally founded as a bustling hub for the Virginian Railway and regional coal mining, the town still holds onto its heritage. You can see that history in the historic downtown buildings and the red caboose museum parked near the tracks.
