About Murray

Murray is a Calloway County city in western Kentucky and very much a college town. It began as a post office and trading center in the early 1820s, and Murray State University now gives the city its most visible rhythm. The town also sits within reach of Kentucky Lake and Land Between the Lakes, which adds an outdoors and weekend layer. Murray feels friendly, academic, and regional, with students, sports, courthouse streets, and western Kentucky small-city life all mixed together.
