Murraysville, NC

Located just north of Wilmington, Murrayville is a relaxed suburban community with quick access to the rest of the Cape Fear region. The area is largely residential, made up of established subdivisions and newer developments branching off Murrayville and Gordon roads. Sitting conveniently between North College Road and Market Street, with Interstate 40 cutting through the center, it gives residents a quiet home base close to local shopping, dining, and regional job centers.

Getting around is straightforward thanks to the surrounding highway connections. Major corridors put downtown Wilmington, the university, and the area beaches within an easy 15-to-20-minute drive. Most retail, grocery stores, and casual restaurants sit along Market Street and College Road, which keeps the interior neighborhood streets peaceful. Traffic along Gordon Road can slow down during peak commute hours as the community grows, so planned road widenings will bring welcome relief in the coming years.

For outdoor recreation, Smith Creek Park serves as the community's primary green space. Tucked right behind Gordon Road, the park surrounds a scenic freshwater lake equipped with a fishing pier and a launch for kayaks and paddleboards. Paved paths, playgrounds, and picnic shelters circle the water, alongside expanded wooded trails that wind through preserved natural areas. Several surrounding subdivisions have direct footpath connections into the park, giving neighbors an easy way to walk the dog or head out for a run right from their front doors.
