About Murrysville

Murrysville is a Westmoreland County municipality east of Pittsburgh, known for its spacious residential character and extensive parkland. It began as Franklin Township in the late 1700s before later taking on the Murrysville name and home-rule structure. Today the community has more than 1,200 acres of parkland, including Murrysville Community Park, and access to the Westmoreland Heritage Trail. Murrysville feels suburban, but with more woods, trails, and open space than many Pittsburgh-area communities.
