Muscotah, KS

With around 150 residents, Muscotah is a tiny Atchison County town settled near the Delaware River in northeast Kansas. Its name comes from the Kickapoo word for prairie, and back in the late 1850s, the entire settlement actually packed up and moved a couple of miles to sit right along the new railroad line. Today, it is best known for a fun roadside landmark: an old water tower tank converted into the World's Largest Baseball, honoring Hall of Fame shortstop Joe Tinker, who was born nearby. Life here moves at a quiet, easy pace, surrounded by open fields and classic prairie countryside.
