About Nelson Lagoon
Nelson Lagoon is a small census-designated place in the Aleutians East Borough, Alaska, situated on the northern coast of the Alaska Peninsula. Established around 1960 as the youngest community in the borough, the site was historically used as a seasonal Aleut summer campsite. Today, Nelson Lagoon has a population of about forty residents, and its economy and culture rely heavily on the area's highly productive salmon fisheries.
