Nesconset, NY

Nesconset is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Smithtown on Long Island. It sits in Suffolk County and is fully served by the Smithtown Central School District. The name is tied to an older term thought to refer to a crossing near the Nissequogue River, and later commercial activity grew around the Lake Avenue and Middle Country Road area. Today Nesconset is mostly residential, with a Long Island suburban feel and nearby ties to nearby Smithtown and Lake Ronkonkoma.
