New Franklin is a city in southwestern Summit County, Ohio, serving as a suburb within the Akron metropolitan area. Incorporated in 1997 to prevent annexation and expanded in 2003 by merging with Franklin Township, the community of approximately 13,800 is home to the scenic Portage Lakes State Park. Public education is divided among several local districts, including the Coventry Local and Norton City school systems.
