About New Haven
New Haven is a city in Allen County, Indiana, situated along the Maumee River immediately east of Fort Wayne. Platted in 1839 by Henry Burgess and named after the city in Connecticut, the community of approximately 15,700 historically sat at the western edge of prehistoric glacial Lake Maumee. The city remains a major agricultural center, hosting Central States Grain, and is served by East Allen County Schools.
