New Haven, WV

New Haven is a Mason County town along the Ohio River, part of the Point Pleasant micropolitan area. The 2020 census counted 1,485 residents. The river is the town's fixed geographic reference, and the town's own history dates its founding to December 2, 1935. New Haven was named for Connecticut, the home of local mine proprietors, giving the place a name that points back to the people who shaped its early local history. The Ohio River is the feature that first orients anyone arriving from the county road network.
