About New Hope

New Hope is a first-ring Minneapolis suburb about 12 miles northwest of downtown. It began as a farming community in Crystal Lake Township, then grew into a postwar suburban city as the metro expanded. Today New Hope is mostly residential, with parks, schools, local shopping, and easy access to nearby Crystal, Plymouth, and Brooklyn Park. It is not a destination town, but it offers the practical strengths of an established inner-ring suburb: short commutes, mature neighborhoods, and everyday access.
