About New Hope
New Hope is a Collin County town a few miles east of McKinney, established in the early 1850s as a school-and-church community for area farmers. It was incorporated in 1974 and operates under a general-law aldermanic structure, with a mayor and five aldermen meeting at Town Hall on Rockcrest Road. The town's own website keeps a list of local secretaries and mayors stretching from the 1980s into the present, giving the little municipality a visible institutional memory. New Hope is a small incorporated place with a rural beginning, a town hall, and a name shared by several other Texas communities.
