New Paris, IN

New Paris is an Elkhart County census-designated place in Jackson Township. The 2020 census counted 1,587 residents. Settlers from Preble County, Ohio, laid out the community in 1839, and the name likely came from New Paris, Ohio. Sunnyside Park gives the place a concrete local center, with a fishing and recreation pond, park building, pavilion, playground, and veterans' memorials. The park's water and memorial spaces sit directly within the small-town road network.

Education connects New Paris to the wider Fairfield Community Schools system. New Paris Elementary is on County Road 46 and serves kindergarten through sixth grade; Fairfield Junior-Senior High School provides the secondary path, with students also coming from Millersburg Elementary.
