New Town is a city in Mountrail County, North Dakota, serving as the administrative center of the Fort Berthold Reservation. Founded in 1950 to house displaced residents of Sanish and Van Hook before their towns were flooded by Lake Sakakawea, the community of approximately 2,721 hosts Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College and is served by New Town Public Schools.
