Newcastle is a Lincoln County town between the Sheepscot and Damariscotta Rivers, with its village on the Damariscotta and a bridge linking it to Damariscotta’s Twin Village. The river supported a shipbuilding era that ran from the 18th century into the early 20th, with schooners, brigs, and other vessels built along the waterfront.
