About Newcastle

Newcastle is a McClain County city southwest of Oklahoma City, near the South Canadian River. Work began in 1922 on a steel through-truss bridge over the river, a reminder that river crossings and regional roads helped shape the town. Modern Newcastle has grown as an outer Oklahoma City suburb while keeping a semi-rural edge.
