Ney, OH

Tucked into the quiet farm country of Defiance County in northwest Ohio, Ney is a peaceful village with around 350 residents. The community was founded in 1846 under the name Georgetown, but it was renamed Ney a few years later in honor of French marshal Michel Ney when the local post office opened. Today, it remains a quiet rural crossroads surrounded by open fields and deep agricultural roots.

Ney is also known as the birthplace of Major League pitcher Ned Garver, a hometown hero locals still remember fondly. The village features a simple grid of residential streets where neighbors know one another and life moves at an unhurried pace. It offers true small-town seclusion and open spaces, while still keeping the shopping, dining, and healthcare of nearby Defiance within an easy drive.
