About Nicholasville

Nicholasville is the county seat of Jessamine County and a fast-growing city just south of Lexington. It was founded by European Americans in 1798 after the Revolutionary War and incorporated in 1837. The city has long served as a local center for surrounding farms and small communities, and today it also functions as part of the Lexington metro area's suburban growth. Nicholasville is home to the Kentucky Wine and Vine Fest, a nod to the region's wineries and agricultural roots.
