Set in the quiet woods of the southern Kenai Peninsula, Nikolaevsk is a small, close-knit village of around 300 people with deep Russian roots. Founded in 1968 by Russian Old Believers looking for a peaceful place to preserve their centuries-old customs, the community still revolves around faith, commercial fishing, and family life. You will see traditional onion-domed architecture and occasionally hear Russian spoken by locals, giving the town a distinct cultural feel. Located along North Fork Road about ten miles inland from Anchor Point, it offers quiet rural living, a local K-12 school, and easy access to the Sterling Highway.
