About Niles

Niles is a city in Trumbull County, Ohio, situated at the confluence of the Mahoning River and Mosquito Creek as a suburb of Youngstown. Founded in 1806 by iron manufacturer James Heaton and later devastated by the Great Flood of 1913, the city of approximately 18,287 is best known as the birthplace of President William McKinley. The downtown area features the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Library and Museum.
