Noblestown, PA

Noblestown is an Allegheny County census-designated place with an older name and a modern township map. North Fayette history places the settlement's beginnings in 1773, ties the name to Colonel Henry Noble, and records a post office there by 1828. The surrounding country was shaped by farming, coal, and the Montour Railroad, which carried western Pennsylvania coal toward Pittsburgh's steel industry. Today, parts of Noblestown fall in North Fayette and South Fayette townships, with students assigned to West Allegheny or South Fayette Township school districts. There is no borough government in the CDP, so Noblestown is best understood as an old village name carried across newer township and school boundaries.
