About Nora Springs

Nora Springs got its start along the Shell Rock River, where more than a hundred natural freshwater springs drew the area's first settlers in the 1850s. The community grew around a bustling flour mill and a scenic millpond, quickly turning into a classic northern Iowa river town. While railroads and water power originally shaped the streets, the community has held onto its quiet, welcoming pace over the generations.
