Normandy, MO

Normandy is a St. Louis County city just west of the city of St. Louis, a compact community whose story runs through land grants, parks, schools, and the former University of Missouri-St. Louis campus. The 2020 census counted 4,287 residents. The land was once associated with Charles Lucas, who acquired property after the New Madrid earthquake, and the city's later history grew around the St. Louis suburban edge. Its streets are close together, and the larger county roads make downtown St. Louis feel like a nearby extension of the daily map.

Robert Hoelzel Memorial Park gives Normandy its main outdoor gathering place, while Normandy Schools Collaborative serves most of the city and a small section falls in Ferguson-Florissant. The old Normandy Residence Center became the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1963, adding a campus chapter to the neighborhood map.
