North Caldwell, NJ

North Caldwell is a small Essex County borough in the hills northwest of Newark. Its history is tied to the old Horseneck Tract, which included several neighboring Caldwell-area communities. Today North Caldwell is residential and affluent, with local elementary schools and access to the West Essex Regional School District. The borough's terrain, residential streets, and proximity to First Mountain give it a greener, more secluded feel than many inner New Jersey suburbs. It is close to the metro, but intentionally low-key.
