North Crows Nest, IN

Perched on high, wooded bluffs overlooking the White River, North Crows Nest is one of the smallest and most secluded residential enclaves in the Indianapolis area. Located about seven miles north of downtown, this quiet pocket is home to only a few dozen residents. The community gets its name from the dense treetop canopy that early settlers found filled with crows, and that same lush, forest-like atmosphere still defines the neighborhood today.

Originally formed by a small group of riverfront homeowners in the 1930s, the town offers a peaceful, retreat-like setting while staying closely connected to the city. Residents enjoy scenic river views and spacious, character-rich properties, along with quick access to the shops and dining of nearby Broad Ripple. Downtown Indianapolis is just a short drive away, making it easy to balance a private home life with everyday city conveniences.
