North Fort Myers is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Lee County, across the Caloosahatchee River from Fort Myers. Its location gives it a direct relationship to the city while keeping a looser, more spread-out character. North Fort Myers includes older neighborhoods, riverfront areas, mobile-home communities, commercial corridors, and access toward Cape Coral, Punta Gorda, and inland Lee County. It is practical Southwest Florida rather than resort-polished, with the river and Fort Myers metro growth shaping much of the local identity.
