North Lakes, AK

North Lakes is a census-designated place in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, northeast of Wasilla and west of Palmer. It was first listed before the 2020 census after the former Lakes CDP was split, so it is a newer statistical place rather than an old incorporated town. The name refers to a chain of lakes in the community, and the local feel is Mat-Su residential: spread out, practical, and tied to the Wasilla-Palmer corridor more than to a single downtown.
