North Pole, AK

North Pole is a small city in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, situated thirteen miles southeast of Fairbanks along the Richardson Highway. Part of the Fairbanks metropolitan area, the city is widely celebrated as a festive tourism destination, famously featuring the world's largest fiberglass statue of Santa Claus. While the community was historically supported by two local oil refineries, tourism and local businesses now drive the economy. Local students attend Fairbanks North Star Borough schools.
