About North St. Paul
North St. Paul is a Ramsey County city just east-northeast of St. Paul. It was originally called Castle, after Henry Anson Castle, who laid it out in 1887 along the Wisconsin Central Railway. The city has a historic downtown and one of the Twin Cities area's most recognizable roadside sights, the giant snowman on Margaret Street. North St. Paul feels like an older inner-ring suburb with its own small-town streak, where rail history, local schools, and east-metro commuting all overlap.
