About Northville
Northville is a Fulton County village on a peninsula in Great Sacandaga Lake, and the lake is the reason the map looks different now than it did a century ago. The Sacandaga River valley was dammed in 1930, turning the old river landscape into an arm of the reservoir and leaving Northville linked by three bridges. Locals call the eastern arm Northville Lake, or the Little Lake. The village is also the southern terminus of the Northville–Lake Placid Trail, a 133-mile Adirondack route. Northville’s old settlement history, lakefront roads, and trailhead all overlap here—a former river crossing reshaped into an Adirondack village with water on three sides.
