Located along the Tippecanoe River just north of Monticello, Norway is a quiet waterfront community in White County. Originally founded in the 1840s as Mount Walleston before taking its name from early Scandinavian settlers, the area sits directly below the Norway Dam. Since the dam forms Lake Shafer, life here centers on the water, with great fishing, easy boat launches, and calm river views.
