About Nulato

Nulato is a city in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area, Alaska, situated on the west bank of the Yukon River in the Nulato Hills. Historically a trading site between the Koyukon and Iñupiat peoples before European arrival, the community of two hundred residents gathers biennially for the week-long Stick Dance. Local students attend the Andrew K. Demoski School, and the town's traditional lifestyle centers on Yukon River salmon fishing.
