Oak Hill, TN

Tucked between downtown Nashville and Brentwood, Oak Hill is a peaceful, heavily wooded enclave of around 1,800 single-family homes. The area holds a rich slice of Middle Tennessee history, from the historic Travellers Rest estate established in 1789 to the Tennessee Governor’s Residence along Curtiswood Lane. In the early 1900s, the Louisville and Nashville Railroad created Radnor Lake as a water reservoir for steam locomotives. When developers later planned to build over the surrounding hillsides, local residents rallied to protect the land, eventually establishing one of the state's most cherished nature preserves. Oak Hill officially incorporated in 1952 to preserve its spacious residential character as the greater Nashville region began to grow.

Covering roughly 1,200 acres of protected ridge forest around an 85-acre lake, it offers miles of tranquil hiking trails, prime wildlife viewing, and an easy escape into nature.
